Tap +, then Take Photo or Choose from Library. Fishinary identifies the species and estimates the size from your photo, and you confirm everything before it's logged. If it picked the wrong fish, choose another of its top matches, or Unknown.
Show the whole fish from the side, in focus, with something for scale: a ruler, a measuring board or your hand. The catch's time and place come from the photo itself, and you can change either before logging.
Fishinary only suggests species found in the countries you fish (Settings → Your Fishinary → Your waters) and in the country where the photo was taken. If your fish usually lives somewhere else, tap Search all species worldwide on the catch screen. If you choose no countries, it searches every species.
Identifying a fish needs a connection. When you're out of signal, take the photo with your phone's Camera app, then log it later with Choose from Library. The time and place still come from the photo.
Photos of screens, drawings, fish at a market or in an aquarium, and photos without a fish can't be logged. If it really is your catch, tap This is a real catch — submit for review. We'll review it, and the answer appears on your Home screen.
A catch whose size the AI estimated from your photo with a scale reference in the frame (a ruler, a measuring board or your hand), and that you haven't edited. Only verified sizes rank on Biggest Catch. Every catch still counts for your Fishinary, quests and badges.
Rankings follow your privacy settings. With profile visibility set to Public you can appear everywhere; Friends shows you only on your friends' rankings; Private hides you. Biggest Catch also needs a verified size and Share my catch log turned on.
You decide, in Settings → Profile & Privacy: who can view your profile, whether visitors can browse your catch log, and how your catch map appears to others: Off, General area (about a one-mile circle) or Exact spots. Images you share never contain map coordinates. A catch image names the spot only if you turn on Show spot; a trip image lists the trip's place names.
Open their profile and tap ⋯ → Block. Neither of you will see the other anywhere in the app, and they aren't told. To unblock, go to Settings → Profile & Privacy → Blocked anglers. To report a catch, press and hold it.
Subscriptions are billed by Apple or Google, so you cancel with them. iPhone: open the Settings app, tap your name, then Subscriptions. Android: in Fishinary go to Settings → Account → Manage Subscription, or in Google Play go to Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions. Cancel before your renewal date to avoid the next charge. Deleting your account doesn't cancel your subscription.
Sign in to the same account and it comes back on its own. If you see the plans screen instead, tap Restore Purchases at the bottom.
Your catches and progress stay saved. The next time you open the app you'll see the plans; subscribe again and everything is where you left it.
Settings → Profile & Privacy → Username. Usernames are 3–20 lowercase letters, numbers or underscores, and each one belongs to a single angler.
Settings → Account → Delete Account. This removes your catches, photos, rewards, friendships and progress, and can't be undone. You can also request deletion on the web.

In Settings: Appearance → Language, Units & Measurements and Notifications. Spot a bad translation? Use Settings → Support & Legal → Report a translation.
No. Seasons, size and bag limits and licence rules depend on where you fish and change often, so always check your local fish and wildlife authority before you fish or keep a catch.
